EMDR

(in-person only)

EMDR is an acronym for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a type of trauma treatment known to effectively treat PTSD, depression and anxiety. EMDR supports the brain to resume its natural healing process (think deep sleep during the REM cycle). EMDR therapy is designed to process traumatic memories in the brain, so the person is informed by these memories but not consumed by them.

Part of the therapy includes alternating eye movements, sounds, or taps, hence the name. The effectiveness of EMDR has been extensively researched and is considered evidence-based treatment.
