Hi, I’m Tessa

I believe that the foundation of successful treatment in therapy is the relationship built between the therapist and client. I also believe in the divine order of things and that you were directed to my website for a reason.

You are courageous for seeking out therapy, because sharing your inner world can be the scariest, most vulnerable thing you can ever do, especially to a stranger!

If you are struggling with your mental health, I want to offer hope that things can and do get better. If you decide to go on a healing journey with me, I promise that you will be seen and heard. I will be honored to go on a journey alongside you.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to providing integrative, trauma-informed, strengths-based, neuro-affirming, and liberation-centered care. My approach is holistic and individualized. I utilize evidence-based modalities like EMDR, CBT, Solution-Focused therapy, and others tailored to your unique needs.

I was born in Buffalo, NY, but moved to Kanazawa, Japan, soon after my birth. My family and I moved back to the U.S. when I was 13 years old. I attended and graduated from a high school in southcentral Kentucky, then moved to Louisville to attend the University of Louisville, where I received my Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Music and Anthropology.  I met my husband while I was a senior in college, got married after graduation and had two sons. I worked in a corporate setting while we raised our children. I went back to school in 2012 and earned a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Spalding University. I received my clinical license (LCSW) in 2018. Gaia Healing, LLC, was opened in 2022.

I welcome all people in my practice. I believe that love is love, no humans are illegal, and that Black and Brown lives matter.

I strive for body neutrality and cultural competency. I am an aspiring ally to the LGBTQ+ community and the historically marginalized communities of color.

It is my desire and hope that you will feel safe, heard and supported during your time with me. I look forward to working with you.
